What is the different between a Foot Health Practitioner and a Podiatrist?

A Registered Foot Health Practitioner is qualified in helping clients with routine foot care, treating mild conditions and providing advice on maintaining foot health, unlike a podiatrist who specialises in the study, diagnosis and treatment of long term foot, ankle and lower leg conditions, and more serious issues.

Do I need to book an appointment?

Yes. Unfortunately, due to demand, we are unable to accommodate walk in appointments. We work on an appointment only basis. You can book online or give us a call 07376 254 150.

How long will my appointment last?

The length of the appointment will depend on the treatment needed. Most appointments will take around 45 – 75 minutes.

How often should I see a Foot Health Practitioner?

6 to 8 weeks in between visits suits most people, however, more serious issues and some courses of treatment, such as fungal nails or verrucae, may need more frequent visits. This will be discussed before a course is started.

Do I need a Referral?

We do accept referrals; however, a referral is not needed to be seen.

What should I expect during my first appointment?

During your first appointment a full history will be taken of any relevant medical issues. You will then receive a thorough foot check and any issues discussed. Once this has been done any treatment needed will be given and any ongoing care discussed.

How do I pay for my appointment?

Payment is collected at the time of the appointment. We accept all major card payments and cash.

Do you offer Home Visits?

We are able to offer house visits in Charminster, Dorchester, Fordington and Poundbury. on a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday. House visits incur an additional £5.00 travel fee.

Can you treat my feet if I have diabetes?

Yes, we offer diabetic foot check ups and all our treatments are suitable for diabetics.

Do you treat children?

Yes, we are able to treat children. Children under the age of 18 years old will need an accompanying adult present at the appointment.

Is there parking available?

Yes. Free client parking is available directly outside the bungalow.
